A Geographer's View of Jersey City - Embankment Preservation Coalition Event

  • 14 May 2015
  • 7:00 PM
  • Center for the Arts at Casa Colombo, 380 Monmouth Street
What was here in Jersey City before YOU?  We may not cover all significant occurrences, but we will hit on some bedrock experiences.  Come hear local resident and urban planner Luke Schray point to clues around us that suggest what was here before centuries of human intervention changed our landscape.  He will start his imaginative tour from Point of Rocks, a notable land feature that was destroyed to make way for the Harsimus. Branch railroad.  Among areas covered will be the Village, Harsimus Cove, Paulus Hook, and Hamilton Park.

Sponsored by Embankment Preservation Coalition; for details, see http://www.embankment.org/event/a-geographers-view-of-jersey-city

A suggested donation of $5 at the door will cover refreshments and other costs.
