The World of Irish Dance

  • 16 Mar 2015
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Pavonia Library, 326 8th Street, Jersey City, NJ
Come join us for an entertaining and educational look at Irish dance with Kerri Smith, founder and director of the Kerri Smith Academy of Irish Dance in Jersey City.

Kerri will share from her knowledge about the history of the dance in Ireland, the ornate costumes and wigs dancers wear, and may answer the oft-asked question: Why do Irish dancers keep their arms down at their sides? Find out about the hard and soft shoes they wear, and the difference between a jig, a reel, and a hornpipe.

Students of the Academy will be there and will treat us to lots of dancing.

Come early for refreshments!
